Mercedes-Benz India has quietly introduced its 2018 C-Class Facelift in the petrol version. The company has priced it at Rs 43.46 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class i.e. C200 is available in only one trim-Progressive and has given considerable features of Diesel C220d. However, the company has not yet officially announced the launch of this car. However, Mercedes-Benz dealers have given information about the sale of this car and its delivery will start from January 2019.
The biggest change, however, is the 1.5-litre petrol engine given in the new Facelift C-Class petrol. The new 1.5-litre engine is equipped with a 4-cylinder unit. This engine generates a power of 181bhp at 5,800-6,100 rpm and 280Nm of torque at 3,000-4,000 rpm. The biggest thing comes with the C200 Mercedes ‘EQ Boost’, which is a mild-hybrid system. This engine is provided with a 48-volt electric motor, which generates torque of 16bhp and 160Nm of torque. As a Transmission, Mercedes-Benz C200 has a 9G Tronic automatic unit.
Speaking of features, as mentioned earlier, in the C200, the same features are given in the C220d. I.e. it has the same chrome-twin-slat grill LED high-performance headlamps, integrated LED daytime running lumps, panoramic sliding sunroof, twin-5-spoke alloy wheels and LED telelinks. Talking about the cabin, it has been given all-black treatment with the same Avantgarde interior package and it has a 64-colour ambient light package.
There has been no change in diesel models – C220d and C300d. It comes with two variants option and its base price model and progressive trim are priced at Rs 40 lakh and Rs 44.25 lakh respectively. Its top-end C300D-AMG line variant costs Rs 48.50 lakh.
